A Photo Tour – Yangon, Myanmar

Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city, surprised Alyse and I not only with its beauty but with also with its strong cultural heart. Beautiful colonial buildings still stand, markets burst out of every alleyway, giant trees and parks can be found within just blocks of the rapidly modernizing capital city of Myanmar. Monks walk beside business men, Indian immigrants hawk fried food on street corners and golden pagodas can be found in almost every community.

Many people have told us that Yangon is what Bangkok was 30 years ago and although we didn’t visit Bangkok 30 years ago, we have visited Bangkok on this trip and we can definitely see how that could be the case.

Here is our photo tour of this beautiful, rapidly modernization metropolis.
